The name Kubatec AG might not be familiar to many yet. However, our expansion agent BETONAMIT^® is well known among those working in the construction and especially the demolition industry. Not only in Liechtenstein or Europe but around the world.

3, 2, 1, ignition – and with a loud bang, dynamite sticks explode, causing buildings, bridges, and stones to crumble. When thinking of explosions, this is the image that often comes to mind. However, we do things a bit differently. BETONAMIT^®, a blend of concrete and dynamite, allows for demolition without explosion, dust, or vibrations.

In professional circles, our BETONAMIT^® is correctly referred to as an expansion agent. Simply put, it works like water in a rock fissure that turns into ice and expands. Through this volumetric increase, rock, stone, and concrete are broken apart through expansion pressure, without the need for explosions.

The force generated is immense. BETONAMIT^® can generate up to 10,000 tons of pressure per square meter, effectively "breaking" any hard rock or reinforced concrete. BETONAMIT^® is a mixture of burnt lime and other additives – a powder produced and packaged at our facility in Ruggell. Mixed with water, it is poured into pre-drilled holes and builds up expansion pressure overnight. It is a process of tearing through expansion within the borehole.

We ship BETONAMIT^® worldwide and it is used wherever large demolition machines are unavailable, cannot fit, or where explosions or vibrations are not possible or desirable due to the location.

We are just scratching the surface of the market

The brand has been completely revamped, distribution structures optimized, and production processes automated to meet the steadily increasing demand. Our main markets are in the USA, Germany, and Scandinavian countries. However, we also ship our product to Africa, South America, Asia, and Oceania. And the market is far from exhausted. The demand for expansion agents is continually rising, and in Norway, Finland, and Sweden, they are already found in nearly every hardware store.

Close collaboration with technical universities

The expansion force of BETONAMIT^® is so immense that it can also be used for other applications. Several research and development projects with technical universities are underway. Significant developments are expected in this area over the coming years. Our goal is to integrate BETONAMIT^® into various system applications, thus creating entirely new markets in construction technology.
